Getting to know Wesley Scott

17 December 2021

From MMA cage fighting to Spanish life and cruising on American country roads – get to know more about Wesley now…

1. In 40 words or less, describe your role at Fortus.

I’m an Accounts Executive working out of the York office which has historically involved preparing various financial statements and tax returns. However, since merging with Fortus, my role has evolved into also being a point of contact for clients.

2. Which of our Fortus values resonates most with you and why?

COURAGEOUS – It’s important to me to always be strong and courageous enough to take on any challenges and get through all adversities without breakdown and falling apart.

3. What’s the one thing you can’t live without?

Besides my dashing good looks, I’d say the one thing I couldn’t live without would be my sense of humour. Life’s meaningless if you can’t have a laugh.

4. What’s on your playlist right now?

Chris Brown, No Guidance (Feat. Drake). Although I’m also partial to a bit of classic Stevie Wonder.

5. What’s the last thing you watched on TV and why did you choose to watch it?

UFC Fight Night. My all-time favourite sport to watch is MMA cage fighting and nobody puts on a more brutal and entertaining show than the UFC.

6. Best book you’ve ever read?

User manual for my washing machine. It’s certainly the book I’ve re-read the most.

7. If you could time warp yourself to any point in history, when would it be, who would you hang out with?

I’d travel back to 2019, hang out with Boris to give him a heads up of the horrendous time to come, and then throw a massive party with everyone I know whilst we’re still allowed out.

8. What superpower would you want and why?

I’d love nothing more than to have power to instantly learn all the different kinds of handy trades, so that by day I can fix up my slowly falling apart house and broken-down car, and by night I can don my superhero alter-ego, ‘Handyman’.

9. What’s your biggest inspiration?

Me. I’m my own biggest inspiration. Each day, I strive to become nothing more than the perfect version of myself. Every day, I believe I get one step closer to becoming my ideal self that I aim to be in future.

10. What’s on your bucket list?

Skydiving used to be on my bucket list but now that I’ve ticked that one off this year, I’d like to become fluent in Spanish so I can chat me up a beautiful Spanish woman.

11. If you could live in a foreign country, where would it be?

After learning Spanish, it makes sense to live in Spain. I’d have a great big villa on one of the islands off the coast of Spain with an enormous pool.

12. Describe your perfect day?

I’d start the day early in the morning cruising on country roads in America with the lads in a classic Dodge Charger before arriving at Miami Beach to spend the day on a private superyacht.

Then in the evening, we’d suit up and take a private jet to Vegas to watch UFC fight night live with VIP cage-side seats.

Finally, we’d finish the night with a rooftop pool party with lots of booze, loud music and beautiful women. It’s an ambitious perfect day, but a perfect one nonetheless.
